February 2004

Although Swiss people living in Japan can be really well integrated, they still need to enjoy ski! Fortunately, many ski resorts are accessible from Tokyo (no need to take the plane to reach Hokkaido), and many of them are located in Nagano prefecture, where the Olympic Games took place.

Here are some pictures from Myoko-kogen, when Seiko and I went skiing with Nakako and Cedric. It is not a huge resort, but it offers nice possibilities. Both Cedric and I were very impressed by our Japanese girls...

One of the special feature of many ski resorts in Japan is to offer night ski. Here is a picture of Cedric on the super-modern 1-seat lift - 10 minutes to go up, 30 seconds to ski back to the starting point...

We finally stopped in Nagano on our way back, since the weather was really not interesting for skiing on Sunday (we got rain).
