Ueno is famous for is lake, surrounded by a park and a zoo, where people enjoy every year the cherry blossom - sakura. Check this page to see how a bunch of gaijins enjoy this traditional japanese event!
North to the park, the Tosho-gu temple is one of the oldest in Tokyo (builded in 1651). It is consacrated to Tokugawa Ieyasu, who unified Japan.
Ueno offers great walks... (University on the left)
And a couple of pictures from the zoo, which is really in the middle of the city... and therefore visited by a huge crowd (including schools) on week-ends!
Finally, south to Ueno is the famous Akihabara, where EVERYTHING concerning electronic can be bought. Really conveninent when you need a computer of a camera, we spent there a lot of Sundays!
