There are a lot of museums in Tokyo, but I only visited a very limited number of them. Here are some of my preferred ones.

Edo museum

One of the most famous museum of Tokyo, which describe history and life in Japan mainly during 19th and early 20th century. The building itself is very impressive!

The big Kanto earthquake from 1923 is described in details... Here is a representation of a tower that was destroyed during this tragic event.

Maritime museum (Odaiba)

Probably my preferred from Tokyo. The museum itself is shaped like a boat, and offer countless information on marine history. The view from the museum is also great.

Finally, Hassen was not allowed to drive of the biggest boat, but he could at least try some smaller ones!

Minka-en open air museum

This is a remarkable museum that you don't even find in the guide book. Just 20 minutes from Shinjuku, it is an open-air place where old houses from all around Japan have been moved and restored.

Sake Plaza

As I said, there are really a lot of museum in Tokyo, including the Ebisu Beer Garden Museum... and this sake museum (with free tasting - but the sake where not so good).
